Celebrating the season with Joyous Beats!

Tabla for Two celebrated the holiday season with an exciting concert, JOYOUS BEATS at District of Columbia Arts Center (DCAC) in Washington, DC. Elena Belashchenko, a very gifted 5 year old dancer, opened up the show with an outstanding performance, coming in exactly on the “one” beat. She charmed the audience.

Dancers perform with Tabla for Two at the Westside Club Oct. 4

At our upcoming concert at the Westside Club on October 4, we will be presenting two talented Russian dancers. The talented Sofya Savkina and gifted 5-year old dancer, Elena Belashchenko.

Young Elena has an other-worldly connection to Tabla for Two’s music. She has performed Russian folk dance at the Washington Folk Festival.

Both Sofya and Elena are studying Eastern classical movement with Masood. This will be their debut performance with Table for Two.

Benefit concert for the Westside Club on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 7 p.m.

Abigail's tabla beanies

Abigail has started to collect antique handwoven, what she calls, “tabla beanies” from Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan. She embellishes them with antique beads, flowers, and birds. She never plays without one on her head.
